What To Pack For A Beach Vacation
Don’t you just love summer? The time of the year when you want go to the beach to get away from it all, to have fun and relax. But, what do you pack? Where do even start?
Would pack your entire closet to take on your vacation to the beach? Or have a new swimsuit for each day; enough clothes to wear for a month & more sandals than you even had a chance to wear? After years of lugging a 50kgs suitcase through the airport, we’ve learnt our lesson. So here is a minimalist’s packing guide for your trip to the beach! Just in case you’re having a hard time sitting on & zipping up your suitcase.
The main idea is to pack lots of neutrals that can mix and match. The goal here is to keep it light and make it possible for you to get everything packed in one carry-on size.
Breezy Tee: Pick a white pocket tee because white is gentle & calm and it is so versatile. It can go with any of the bottoms you’re packing & its simplicity makes it that much more chic.
Tank Top: This is an easy piece to take that will break up a completely neutral wardrobe. A blush color tank is of course a go to, but olive green or light blue would be pretty too.
Trendy Top: Specifically trendy because it doesn’t necessarily have to be an off the shoulder or bling. Adding a sexy piece to your bag will keep your outfits from being too boring & when you look back at the pictures in a few decades you wouldn’t judge your fashion sense.
Boyfriends Shorts: The boyfriend shorts are comfortable and you can always show off your sexy legs. They look effortless with the breezy tee, sneakers & a top knot.
White Shorts: White shorts always make a fresh tan look even more pretty so they are a necessity, plus they go with everything. White on white is also super chic!
Swimsuits: A hot black or tangerine two piece swimsuit, a navy blue or a white single piece swimsuit. Any body type can flaunt it. Always carry an extra pair of swimsuit.
Cover-up: One of these is enough. Just make sure it gets laid out or thrown in the dryer at the end of the day so it’s dry for the next.
Flowy Top: The lightweight fabric of this top is perfect for an evening stroll on the beach and the long sleeves make it so you don’t need to take a jacket!
Maxi Dress: This is beach must have. For a casual dinner on the bay or a late brunch, you can throw this on to be ready in a flash.
T-shirt Dress: Dresses are one of the easiest (and lightest) things to pack for vacation, so having another shorter option is always a good idea. Pack a classic stripe and loose fit dress to stay comfortable in the heat.
Linen Pants: Any color will work, stripes would be fun too, but this is the epitome of beachwear!
Beach Tote: This can double as your purse on the plane, so pack an extra outfit and swimsuit in this just in case your bag gets lost if you check it!
Accessories: Accessories can easily work as your “third piece” on hot days when an extra layer is the last thing you’d want to put on. Add a bracelet or two, a hat, a pair of stud earrings, and a cute necklace in your bag & you’ll be set for the week!
Sandals and Flip-flops: Sandals for two reasons; they’re comfy and they can be easily dressed up or down. You can wear these to walk around the city all day without getting sore feet, but also to dinner with the maxi in the evening and Flip-flops at the beach or by the pool.
Sunscreen: If you are allergic or not, ask your dermatologist to prescribe you the best sunscreen for your skin type.
Obvious bare essentials like PJ’s & under-things, but here’s your reminder just in case. This will helpful if you are headed somewhere warm anytime soon.
